With 14 acres nestled among the beautiful blue ridge mountains, MERU Campus is the largest net zero project in the state of Virginia and the largest net zero assisted living project in the U.S. This project includes a renovation of two hotel buildings, one restaurant building, and a new constructed building all located on the same parcel of land.
The project achieves Net Zero by solar a solar system along with battery system. All the energy needed for the campus will be produced at site via a 526 kW solar system, and a 500 kWh battery system.
Another important benchmark for MERU is that the four-building project will comply with the National Green Building Standards (NGBS) gold rating.
